What are the origins of the Shambhala Buddhist Lineage?

What is devotion, what are we devoted to, and is it necessary?

How does an understanding of lineage and tradition provide support on one’s path?

This one-day class will be a brief introduction to the unique blend of traditions that comprise Shambhala Buddhism - the Kagyu ("command lineage") Nyingma ("ancient lineage") and Shambhala Warrior culture embedded in Tibetan society and pre-Buddhist Bön religion.  We will explore how the lives and teachings of the primary lineage holders continue to serve as up-to-date examples for us as practitioners working with our personal obstacles within our present circumstances.
