Shambhala Day 2025: Year of the Wood Snake Community Celebration
As ever, our Shambhala New Year celebration will be a way for us to connect to and support one another - and to celebrate this important transition into a new energetic cycle and year.
This February we welcome in the Year of the Wood Snake.
In Tibetan astrology, the Year of the Snake is associated with qualities of wisdom, mystery, and transformation, and is often associated with the idea of shedding one’s skin, rebirth, and renewal. This symbolism illustrates the Snake’s ability to adapt, change, and embrace new beginnings. The element of Wood in the upcoming Wood Snake brings us a year that could feel more ordered and calm–and with a greater ability to appreciate the world around us.
Please join us for our annual celebration of the new year featuring many of our beloved traditions. Planned morning activities include:
- Lhasang smoke offering to invite helpful energies
- Kyudo "First Shot" performed by Toby Bernal
- White Tara practice in the Main Meditation Hall.
- Light snacks and warm beverages available in the morning.
- Local I Ching reading for the Year of the Wood Snake.
- Community Brunch
- Join in with the Shambhala Day Life International Broadcast
Please pre-register so that we may plan accurately for food and seating.
