Pricing & Generosity Policy

We offer a variety of pricing options depending on the program type:

  • Standard Price: Participants of average means can offer the full program price. Please note below that weekend programs offer a lower price to those who register 11 or more days before the class begins.
  • Patron Price: Participants who are able and inspired to do more can offer the patron price. Your generosity in offering the patron price helps provide additional support for Shambhala.
  • Suggested Donation: Many of our programs are listed with suggested donation amounts rather than prices. For these programs, please pay the suggested amount or what you can afford.
  • Repeat Price: $60 for most programs.
  • Program has no cost: Many of our programs are offered at no cost, for example public meditation sessions. A small donation is not necessary, but is always welcome – there are donation boxes near the shoe racks.
  • Generosity: The center offers generosity in providing a range of options for participants with limited means. If the program price is an obstacle for you, please email the person listed below and we will work with you to discuss options (e.g. spreading your payments over two or three months).

To arrange a reduced cost, please contact Colleen Roundhill in advance of the program. Please try to do this at least two weeks before the class begins.

Standard Prices

Our center operates almost entirely on income received from membership and class fees. Classes that are offered and the maintenance of our buildings depend upon this income. The following reflects the standard prices for classes at this time. This cost does not include the price of texts, which are a part of several classes and will be an additional charge.

Weeknight Programs:

  • Standard: $110
  • Patron: $130

Weekend Programs:

  • Standard: $150 ($170 if fewer than 10 days from program start)
  • Patron: $175

It is very difficult for us to plan a program when we do not know the number of participants. Please help us by registering early. You only have to register early (not pay early) to receive the lower standard cost for a weekend program. You can pay at any time on or before the 1st day of class.
