Conversations About Buddhism

Wednesdays 7:30-8:30 PM
A popular weekly ongoing discussion about all things Buddhist. Open to everyone, this class is a discussion group led by a teacher/facilitator. All are welcome to join in at any time during the course of the program. For more information contact Diane Irwin.

Young Meditators Group

First and third Thursdays of every month 7-8:30 PM
The Young Meditators Group is a meeting space designed for young people who are interested in finding mindful approaches to the issues faced by young adults on a day-to-day basis. After the program, some folks will meet up at a nearby coffee shop to continue the discussion and get to know each other better. Appropriate for anyone 18-39. The Austin Shambhala Book Group

Second Thursday of  every month 6:30 PM
The Austin Shambhala book group will use texts as the ground from which to consider concepts and contemplate how they are at play in our everyday lives. We’ll do the reading outside of meetings (see updates for each month’s book and reading). Come with any passages or ideas you’d like to explore with the group. Heart of Recovery 

Mondays 7-8 PM
We welcome all Twelve Step participants (AA, NA, Al-Anon, OA, SLAA, etc.) who have an interest in combining the principles of their program of recovery with Buddhist teachings and practices. This is a peer support group. We begin with a 20 minute meditation followed by open sharing. For more information contact Ian Cousins.

 

 

Arts Wide Open

First Saturdays of every month 10 AM-12:00 PM
A monthly explorations of the creative process, using mindfulness and contemplative practices as a means to rediscover and appreciate our world.  The aim of Arts Wide Open is to cultivate mindful, creative community, support each other and exchange ideas.  Connecting with our senses, our environment, our materials and our heart.  For further information contact Adam Sultan.
